The company Sojevyj Vik (the name can be translated as Soya Age) was founded by Ruslan Monich and registered on the 30th November 2001.
The main activities of the company include breeding of new varieties of soya beans, which are suitable for customers such as farmers and processing plants; production of high quality seeds of high performing varieties that are created by our breeders; improvement of existing varieties.
Sojevyj Vik is a young dynamic and innovative company and is proud to be an originator of a famous early-maturing variety of soya beans called Annushka. It was successfully tested and evaluated by the state and was added to the national list of plant varieties of Ukraine in 2007. It also became a national standard of the early-maturing varieties across all the geographical zones of Ukraine. The variety Annushka has not only been tested In Kirovogad region, but also in other regions of Ukraine and abroad. The results of these tests were excellent in Belarus, Russia, Moldova and England with the yields of 2,8 – 4,0 t per hectare.
In 2008 Annushka was registered in Russia. It successfully passed the trials in Belarus in 2008 and was registered there in 2009. In England the trials were successful as well and Annushka was added to the national list in winter 2009.
In 2007 the variety Annushka was the 6th most popular variety in Ukraine and in 2008 it became the first among 107 varieties of Ukrainian and foreign origin.
Two more of our varieties were added to the national list of Ukraine which are Anastasia(high-yielding, early-maturing) and Antoshka(very high-yielding and medium –maturing variety)
Varieties such as Sribna Ruta(medium-maturing) and Smugljanka(medium-maturing) are being trialed by the state since 2008.
A new ultra early-maturing and high-yielding variety called Bilyavka, is currently being trialed also.
Our breeders are working on other new varieties of soya beans that are characterized by stable high yields, early maturity, adaptation to limited climate conditions and high market value.
Sojevyj Vik is collaborating with original breeders of Ukrainian soya varieties and members of research and development faculties.
The company is also involved in the production of original seeds of our varieties. It has all the facilities needed such as specialists in different spheres of agriculture, land, warehouses, agricultural machinery and other technology. We are operating on the lands of the following regions: Kirovograd(1600 ha) and Kyiv(3107ha).
Sojevyj Vik is continually improving its methods of planting and growing of soya taking into account its biological specifics and paying close attention to the timing of sowing and sowing rate to achieve the most efficient combination.
Inoculating seeds with bacteria results in pest resistance, higher yields, and better quality of crops. It is recommended to inoculate seeds with a proper strain of nitrogen-fixing bacteria to increase seed productivity and soil fertility. The bacteria inoculants can be applied to the seeds just before planting. We are constantly testing new domestic and foreign nitrogen-fixing techniques. Usage of inoculants with antagonistic microorganisms is very effective. We are currently testing over 15 different strains.
Application of micro fertilizers, organic fertilizers with bio hummus, and plant growth regulators is necessary for improvement of yield and quality of crops. Such agrochemicals enable quick plant growth and seed maturity, increase resistance of the plants to the adverse environmental conditions, protect plants from different bacterial and fungal diseases by strengthening immunity, and create a more active symbiosis between soya plants and nitrogen-fixing bacteria.
We are constantly developing new methods of growing soya beans with the aim to improve yields and considering soil conditions and climate zones of different regions of Ukraine. Sojevyj Vik gives recommendations and shares it’s own methods of how to plant and grow soya beans with its customers. We are also organizing workshops for our regular customers during which we introduce our new varieties, give recommendations on how to grow soya beans and answer any questions. These workshops are also useful for our specialists who interface directly with the customers to provide more customized products, deeper understanding of the market and customers’ requirements. We then use this lesson learning to develop new market based products and new varieties of soya beans.
